So my little girl needed shoes for camp for water day. They needed to be the kind of shoes that can get wet and not cause her any discomfort or get ruined. I thought- hmm… crocs? Although, I really really really really don’t like crocs (I think they are ugly- Like fugly), I heard that they had new styles out, so I did a google search and found these.
Here’s a disclaimer though- the little butterflies are not available in sizes less than toddler 9- which was the case for us. So don’t show the butterfly piccie to your little one. She will be bummed when it comes butterfly-less!
In my google search, I found that Endless.com had the lowest price for these shoes. Only $19.99! Woo hoo! AND- On top of that, FREE overnight shipping. I was almost sold- but being that Miss Bea is only 2 years old and her shoe size could be anything depending on the brand- I was hesitant to buy them. But hold on to your socks- Endless.com also has FREE return shipping. VOILA… sold. I bought them and they were here the next day. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. When I showed them to my little girl she was SO happy- she thinks that they are ballerina shoes and she has been wearing them nonstop. Love Love Love the Gabby Crocs and I Love Love Love Endless.com for being so wonderful.
Oh and I just want to say that I did have to call the Endless.com Customer Service- and not only did I talk to a real person- with a super short hold time, but the guy I spoke to was really nice and patient with my stupid question (about the butterfly).
Anyway- for all you parents out there who don’t want to go shoe-shopping with your kids- Endless.com is my first recommendation. Free return shipping and free overnight shipping? Fahgeddaboutit! They make it so easy- you can order during naptime. I am actually going to buy some shoes there for myself now! Anything to avoid dragging two babes to the mall!
Have a great night! xoxo
I don’t know why people say the phrase, “Sleeping like a baby.” Unless they are using it to be ironic, it’s a stupid phrase. Babies need to learn to sleep- it’s not something they just do. More often than not, they wake up a LOT and do not sleep like babies- they wake up like babies.
My first born, a little girl I call Bea, was the greatest sleeper of all time since the age of nine weeks. She slept 12 hours- in a swing- but she still slept 12 hours. Awesome. After a while, we started putting her in her bed and she would cry for a few minutes and then play and sing herself to sleep. She is now two and still does this. To this day she puts up quite the protest about going to sleep but as soon as I walk out of her room, the screaming ceases and she is in la-la land, reading a book or singing or playing with her blanket. It’s all a show. Then she falls asleep and doesn’t get up for 12-13 hours. Brilliant little child.
Now, my little boy, Ben, is a completely different story. He is now six months old and sometimes he sleeps, and sometimes he wakes up screaming bloody murder at 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 in the morning. About two months ago, he really started sleeping well through the night. I would nurse him around 7:30 pm and he would pass out in a milk coma. I would put him down in his bed and he would sleep soundly. Since he was falling asleep eating, I decided that he should probably go to sleep on his own. Learning good sleep habits is a very important skill and one I want both my kids to acquire, if not for them, then for me and my sanity.
So I started putting him to bed between 6-6:30pm. He’s so great about going to sleep. I bathe him, read him a few books, sing him a song, then give him a kiss from everyone in the family and wish him sweet baby dreams. No crying, no screaming, no nothing. He just rolls on his side and hums himself to sleep. I would then wake him up around 10:30-11pm for a final nursing and he would sleep until about 6:30am. Wonderful. Well, about a month ago, I cut out that late feeding basically because I was passing out cold before I could feed him. Oops. Well- he took to it well and could go from 6pm-6:30am without that final nursing. I thought I was home free.
Beware the growth spurt.
Ben is now waking up during the night again- has done this all week. I nurse him and he eats as if he has never eaten ever. I am going back to my late feeding and crossing my fingers that this works. After a week, I am going to go back to skipping it again. It should do the trick. Cross your fingers for me.
If you have any tips, please share. I’ll keep you updated on how Big Ben does. He’s bound to sleep through the night at some point right?
So I’m starting this blog and I have about a million ideas of what it can and should be. My problem is that these millions of ideas are stopping me from beginning my blog. I’m the epitome of a procrastinator and I can come up with a lot of ways to not do something. I have decided to strike against this personality trait and just jump in to this blog with two feet. So here I am. I’m jumping.
That said, you might be wondering what this blog is about. Is this a “Mommy Blog,” a “Design Blog,” a “Craft Blog,” or perhaps a journal? Well, good question. It might be a bit of all these things and then some. The thing is, I’m really not sure, but I welcome you on my little adventure. This will just be a way for me to be creative and have an outlet outside of my job(s). I’m excited, yeah, I can tell that you are too.
I’ll introduce myself, kind of. I’m a graphic designer, by trade. I am also a mother of two little ones (currently my little boy is 6 months and my little girl is 2 years old). I am also a wife to a wonderful man, who is unlike anyone I have ever met- in a completely good way. I might possibly tell some stories about him that might put him in a less than stellar light, but it’s only because I think the stories about my husband are hilarious. Not everyone gets him, but I do. Oh- and I have a crazy dog named Disco. Legitimately- he is crazy. He is 12 lbs of insanity, but he is cute and well loved.
So I will probably end up talking about all these elements of my life, and a bit more. I hope you enjoy it and I welcome your comments- unless they are mean, then I don’t want to hear it.
xoxo
